Privacy policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your scripts and videos stay on your iPhone. We never see them.
- Speech recognition is done by Apple, on your iPhone when possible.
- Purchases go through Apple; RevenueCat confirms them with an anonymous ID.
Who we are
SmoothCue is published by Anthony Delmotte, an individual developer. For any question about your data, write to support@smoothcue.app.
Your scripts
The cue cards you write, paste or import are stored only on your iPhone, inside the app. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Like the rest of your apps, they can be included in your own iCloud or computer backup of the iPhone, which Apple manages for you. When you choose “Share text”, the text goes only where you send it.
Camera, microphone and your videos
SmoothCue uses the camera and microphone only while you record a take. Videos are saved to your Photos library, on your iPhone, with your permission. SmoothCue does not upload them anywhere. When you share a take, it goes only where you choose.
Speech recognition
To scroll at the pace of your voice, SmoothCue uses Apple’s speech recognition while you read. When your iPhone has the language installed, recognition happens on the device. Otherwise, your voice is sent to Apple to be turned into text, as with dictation; it is handled under Apple’s privacy policy. SmoothCue only uses the recognized words to move the highlighter. It does not keep or send your voice or the transcript anywhere.
Purchases
Payments are made through your Apple ID: we never see your card or your name. To check what you have unlocked, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app identifier and your purchase history from Apple. This is used only to unlock the app and restore your purchases, never for advertising.
What we don’t do
No account. No advertising. No analytics or tracking tools. No selling or sharing of data with data brokers. SmoothCue does not track you across other apps or websites.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply. You can ask us to delete our exchanges at any time.
Children
SmoothCue is not aimed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
Your rights
Since SmoothCue keeps your data on your iPhone, you stay in control: deleting a card or a video removes it, and deleting the app removes everything it stored. You can turn off camera, microphone, speech recognition or Photos access at any time in the iPhone Settings. If you are in the EU, you have the rights given by the GDPR; for any request, write to support@smoothcue.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
